Last month, we celebrated 17 years of GP Travel Enterprise — our flagship travel management platform that has evolved from an ambitious idea into a versatile and flexible solution trusted by travel businesses around the globe.
Seventeen years of development consists of countless lines of code, multiple product enhancements and version releases, thousands of users, and an enduring drive to become better every single day.
As we mark this milestone, GP Travel Enterprise is going through the most significant transformation in its history — a true evolution fueled by business growth, technological progress, and new business demands.
What’s New Behind the Scenes?
Over the past year, our product team has made massive strides in improving our architecture, external and in-house processes, and overall product performance:
- A major technical upgrade is underway — from transitioning to new versions of Swagger and MySQL/Percona, to fully containerizing the application with Docker.
- We’ve replaced the old user interface and prioritized system stability, scalability, and performance — key factors in meeting the expectations of new enterprise clients.
- We’ve moved to automated testing, introduced Cucumber for legacy test migration, and created a dedicated automation team focused on regression coverage.
- Our front end now uses openapi-typescript for API type generation, which enables us to develop faster and minimize integration errors.
- We’ve introduced a custom PDF generation service, optimized multilingual support with OpenAI-based auto-translation scripts, and embraced the best of Vue 3 practices, including modularity, logic isolation, and cleaner templates.
These changes aren’t just technical upgrades — they’re strategic responses to real business challenges. Our focus has been on writing cleaner code, creating predictable behavior, and reducing avoidable bugs. Each improvement brings us closer to our goal: a faster, more stable, and more user-friendly platform.
